Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center’s Blood Bank Lab in the Moses campus in the Bronx is seeking a Clinical Lab Technologist for night shifts (12:00am–8:00am) with alternate weekends. The role performs routine and emergency tests on blood and body fluids using automated and manual equipment, maintains QC/QA records, and ensures timely data review and reporting.

Candidates must hold a NYS Laboratory Technologist license or provisional permit and a Bachelor’s degree in a physical science (medical technology

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a physical science; medical technology preferred.
New York State Department Laboratory Technologist License or provisional permit required.
Experience with LIS systems and QA/QC data management.
Located at Moses campus in Blood Bank Lab; nights 12:00am–8:00am with alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and emergency tests on blood, serum, spinal fluid and other body fluids using automated and manual equipment.
Review data prior to release.
Report panic/abnormal values.
Maintain QA/QC data and resolve QC failures as procedures require.
Prepare reagents, take inventory, and assist supervisor as needed.
Maintain all records and maintenance logs for equipment.
Assist with phone inquiries and LIS data entry.
May supervise technicians and train new staff.
Maintain a clean work area per Infection Control guidelines.
