Placements24 is seeking a skilled Blockchain Backend Developer to join our Randburg team, focusing on scalable backend services for blockchain data analytics. You will design robust data models, ingest data from multiple networks, and build APIs with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2 years in blockchain or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and data warehousing concepts.
• Understanding of blockchain protocols, transaction flows, and consensus mechanisms.
• Experience with RESTful APIs development and consumption.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs for blockchain data processing and analytics.
• Design and implement data models and storage solutions for large-scale blockchain datasets.
• Integrate with blockchain nodes and APIs (Ethereum, Bitcoin, Polygon) to ingest and process data.
• Optimize backend performance for speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, and monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and data scientists to deliver seamless product experiences.
• Ensure security and integrity of backend systems and data.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to improve the platform.
