Job summary

Block Tech I – Texas Speed Location is seeking a dedicated individual to support the block department for Texas Speed and Performance. This role reports to the Block Department Manager and carries a pay range of $16–$19 per hour with a focus on quality and traceability of engine blocks.

Key duties include teardown, inspection, prep for machining, and ensuring safety procedures are followed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Dynamic, high-energy communicator with collaborative problem-solving.
• Exceptional mechanical abilities.
• Experience using measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Tear down engine blocks and label components for traceability.
• Visually inspect blocks from start to finish.
• Prep blocks for machining and block builds.
• Install cam bearings and plugs during block prep.
• Prepare sleeves and blocks for sleeving and deburr sleeves; heat block in oven.
• Maintain positive working relationships with manufacturing staff.
• Enforce industry-standard safety procedures in the block department.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Block Department Manager.

Block Tech I – Texas Speed Location

This position is responsible for the Block Department support as listed below for Texas Speed and Performance.

Reports to Block Department Manager.

Pay Range: $16h-$19h

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Engine Tear Down Process (Label components and maintain traceability)
• Visual Inspection of all blocks from start to finish
• Prep blocks and visually inspect blocks before machining
• Prep blocks for engine builds (install cam bearings and plugs)
• Prep sleeves and block for sleeving (deburr sleeves / heat block in oven)
• Maintains positive working relationship with manufacturing personnel and other staff members to support a positive workplace environment.
• Responsible for implementing and enforcing industry standard safety procedures throughout the block department.
• Performs and executes all other duties assigned by direct manager.
