Job summary

Pathways Community Living in the United States seeks a dedicated Residential Advisor to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community home setting. This is a full-time, non-exempt position emphasizing safety, independence, and compassionate care while adhering to agency policies.

You will assist with daily living activities, hygiene, transportation, and community participation, documenting progress and following the Individualized Support Plan.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or extensive experience or training in intellectual disabilities or mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Provides residential support for individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community home setting.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with identified participants, community agencies, medical professionals, and other collaborative entities.
  • Ensures the safety, health, and well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing residential supports.
  • Provide assistance with bathing, toileting, and all aspects of hygiene.
  • Maintains a calm home environment that enables participants to live an independent life.
  • Provides support in daily living activities.
  • Implements aspects of the participant's Individualized Support Plan.
  • Creates and promotes opportunities for participants to fully achieve their goals.
  • Provides support in daily living activities.
  • Encourages skill development and goal attainment.
  • Participates in community activities that promote socialization for participants.
  • Provides transportation for participants to fully engage in the community.
  • Documents clearly the daily progress of participants in ALIS, and other systems: at the completion of each shift.
  • Commits to high-quality residential services for all participants.
  • Complies with all policies, procedures, and Chapter 6400 regulations.
  • Remains flexible to work rotating shifts with non-traditional hours to meet the needs of the participants.

Job Title: Residential Advisor

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or extensive experience or training on intellectual disabilities or the mental health field.


Certificates and Licenses (Preferred):

  • CPR/first aid
  • Fire safety
  • Crisis management
  • Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73

*Pathways Community Living will obtain the clearances or certifications for employees to meet these requirements.


Requirements:
