Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is hiring a dependable Block Plant Machine Operator in Smyrna, TN. You will operate and monitor block-making equipment, set up for runs, and inspect finished blocks for quality while maintaining a clean, safe work area and adhering to safety policies.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, reliable attendance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Training may be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or block plant operations preferred, but training may be provided for the right candidate.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Ability to work safely around moving equipment, dust, noise, and concrete products.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust block plant machinery and related equipment.
• Set up machines for production runs and ensure molds, materials, and equipment are functioning properly.
• Inspect finished block for size, appearance, strength, and quality standards.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Identify equipment or production issues and report them to supervision or maintenance promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, and production procedures.
• Assist with material handling, plant cleanup, and other duties as needed.
