Job summary

Newly Weds Foods is hiring for a packaging position in the production area. You will verify labels and batches, affix labels, and neatly stack bags on pallets, maintaining line standards.

The role involves lifting up to 55 lbs, assisting with bagging and dumping up to 100 lbs, and keeping the area clean while following safety procedures. Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year packaging experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment, including forklift and load move system.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Verify product against labels and batch as directed by supervisor.
• Affix labels to bags and stack bags onto pallets per standards.
• Assist in bagging and dump operations; handle weights up to 55 lbs and up to 100+ lbs for dumping.
• Maintain packaging area, sanitation, and safety compliance (LOTO).
• Complete paperwork and assist in inventory/cycle counts.

Summary

Performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting packaging goals for customer orders by stacking product at the end of packaging lines. This person will rotate to other positions at the pack lines as needed.

Essential Functions

• Verifies product being bagged against labels being printed.
• Verifies batch with Supervisor as needed
• Affixes labels to bags and neatly stacks them onto pallet while maintaining packaging line standards.
• Continuous pulling / lifting and carrying bags weighing up to 55 lbs.
• Required to assist in bagging of product as needed. Requires pushing/pulling up to 55+ lbs. Maintains packaging standards.
• Required to assist in dumping of product as needed. Requires pushing/pulling up to 100+ lbs.
• Completes paperwork as needed.
• Must maintain integrity of product.
• Must assist in inventory and cycle counts
• Keeps area and equipment clean; follows LOTO procedures when cleaning equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Must follow good manufacturing practices and be responsible for sanitation of assigned area.
• Must follow all Safety Rules.

Salary

• Starting at $19.18- $22.57 an hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year’s packaging experience within a food manufacturing environment
• Ability to comfortably operate standard warehouse equipment, including proficient operation of forklift and load move system.

Work Environment

• The job is performed in the production area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
