Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is seeking a production associate at our Wisconsin facility to support daily blending, weighing, and batch documentation ensuring safe, high quality dairy products.

You will work with warehouse, quality assurance, and production teams, following GMP and safety policies, assisting with changeovers, sanitation, and training new employees as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to follow approved recipes and batch records.
  • Commitment to food safety and GMP policies.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily production schedules and prepare ingredient batches according to approved recipes and specifications.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and stage ingredients for production runs.
  • Coordinate ingredient availability with warehouse, purchasing, and production teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Verify recipe formulas, batch records, and ingredient lot numbers before blending.
  • Operate blending, mixing, and ingredient handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor blending processes to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with product specifications.
  • Complete production records, batch documentation, and traceability logs accurately.
  • Conduct quality checks and report any ingredient discrepancies, formulation issues, or equipment concerns.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy for raw materials and notify supervisors of shortages or replenishment needs.
  • Assist with product changeovers, equipment cleaning, and sanitation activities as needed.

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  • This position has heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  • Review daily production schedules and prepare ingredient batches according to approved recipes and specifications.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and stage ingredients for production runs.
  • Coordinate ingredient availability with warehouse, purchasing, and production teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with training new employees.
  • Adhere to all Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and Safety policies and procedures and report any nonconformities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
