Job summary

Old World Industries, LLC. is seeking a Blending Supervisor to lead a blending team in handling raw materials, slurries, and coolants for finished solutions. You will supervise, coach, and ensure safety standards and 6S practices are followed in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires 3–5 years in a supervisory capacity, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Barge unloading may require a Merchant Mariner Document license and forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise blending team to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Enforce PPE, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Lead safety standards using 6S methodologies.
  • Oversee blending activities including slurries and coolants.
  • Complete all required paperwork and batch documentation.
  • Manage bulk chemical receiving and material handling.
  • Drive process improvements and support ad-hoc projects.

Job description

Position Purpose:

The Blending Supervisor directs team of blenders in all chemical handling and blending, including raw materials, slurries, and coolants, for the purpose of supplying finished solutions to gallon-, drum-, and bulk-filling operations.

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, coach and mentor blending team to ensure efficiency and quality standards are intact
  • Ensures all requirements for maintaining a safe workplace are followed (PPE, rules & policies, applicable government regulations, etc.)
  • Drive safety standards for team through 6S methodologies
  • Responsible for all Blending activities, including Slurries and Coolants.
  • Ensures all applicable paperwork/documentation is accurately completed
  • Documents chemical raw material usage/lot numbers on Batch sheets
  • Receives Bulk Chemicals and raw materials, including tanker truck, rail car, and barge
  • Assists in investigation of out-of-specification materials
  • Maintains Blending area in an orderly condition
  • Encourage a team-oriented and eager to learn mindset
  • Takes initiative and shares process improvements
  • Assists in various ad-hoc projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Education, Skills and Abilities:
  • Merchant Mariner Document license is required for Barge unloading
  • High School diploma or GED Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role
  • Valid driver's license
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Ability to effectively lead employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient PC skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively handle group and individual work assignments
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Understanding of written instructions and ability to complete assignments efficiently
  • Good judgment and decision making
