Job summary

LANXESS in East Hanover, NJ is seeking a Blender Operator to blend finished fluids, load and offload bulk chemicals, and manage batch calculations.

The role requires forklift operation, safety discipline, and accurate record-keeping. You will follow batch instructions, assist with packaging, and support preventive maintenance and quality checks in a high-volume plant environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years prior chemical plant or similar experience handling chemicals in an industrial environment.
• Prior experience blending chemicals and bulk chemical handling preferred.
• Must be minimum of 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or Equivalence required.
• Clear and comprehensive communication in English (written/verbal) required.
• Basic mathematic and numeracy skills required.
• Qualified forklift operator required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Blend finished fluid product and perform tasks in blending, grease and/or chem plant areas.
• Load and offload bulk chemicals from tanker trucks, iso containers and railcars.
• Transfer raw materials and products to correct destinations; perform batch-related calculations.
• Follow detailed batch instructions including precisely weighing and adding materials.
• Perform packaging as needed and operate a forklift when required.
• Maintain safety, 6S/housekeeping, LOTO, inspections and other duties as assigned.
• Record process data, monitor quality, and maintain inventory and paperwork.

Job description

Job Overview

This position is responsible to blend finished fluid product and perform all also task and activities associated with the product in our blending, grease and/or chem plant area. The blender responsibilities include loading and offloading bulk chemicals such as from and or to tanker trucks, iso containers and railcars. The blending operator routinely transfers raw materials and products and must ensure the correct material is transferred to the correct destination as a core responsibility of the role. The blender performs calculations as required to determine tank contents and quantities transferred as well as other batch related calculations.

The blender must followed detailed batch instructions which includes precisely weighing and adding raw materials as part of making blending batches.

In this role, the operator will also perform packaging as needed and the blender must be able to drive a forklift.

Additionally, there is lifting required and is a essential part of this job and which includes but not limited to lifting and dumping of raw materials into blend kettles and transfer of materials. The blender must accurately and legibly fill out all forms and batch records. The role also include tasks and activities needed tomaintain safe and efficient production activities Lock out Tag out, 6S/Housekeeping, PHA support, inspections, and other duties as assigned.

Qualificiations and Experience

• 4+ years prior Chemical plant or similar experience handling chemicals in industrial environment required
• Prior experience blending chemicals and bulk chemical handling strongly preferred
• Must be minimum of 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or Equivalence required
• Clear and comprehensive communication in English (written/verbal) required
• Basic mathematic and numeracy skills required
• Qualified forklift operator required
• Ability to work in a Team environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy and high volume machine production area
• Ability to climb ladders and platforms (such as on storage tanks and railcars)
• Ability and willingness to work safely and wear PPE as required
