Newly Weds Foods in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Team Lead to supervise production and coordinate break relief, ensuring line uptime and safety.

Responsibilities include operating department equipment, training staff, completing reports, and enforcing sanitation and quality standards while supporting the Supervisor in planning work shifts. Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and work 12-hour shifts, including weekends. This is an on-site role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ months experience in a food production/manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to consistently lift to 80 lbs.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Act as Team Lead for the Department Supervisor by leading employees to meet/exceed production standards.
• Learn to operate all equipment and keep the line running during breaks.
• Prepare and complete paperwork using the computer system; oversee reports and checklists.
• Enforce sanitation requirements and ensure compliance by all staff.
• Operates all department equipment as listed.
• Teaches procedures and verifies compliance with scale checks.
• Plan and prepare work assignments and trainings with the Supervisor.
• Assist in ELO verifications.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Job Summary

To learn and perform all jobs within the department to be able to relieve employees as they break and to act as the team lead during non-break periods. Learns to operate and operates all equipment in the departments.

Essential Functions

• Act as the Team Lead for the Department Supervisor by leading employees in the production of the products to meet and /or exceed production standards.
• Learn to operate and operates all equipment to keep the line running by operating all equipment as employees take their breaks.
• Learn to prepare and prepares all paperwork using the computer system. Complete reports and checklists as assigned and oversee the paperwork prepared by all team members.
• Learn the Sanitation requirements and ensures that all employees comply with the requirements.
• Operates all department equipment as listed above.
• Performs scale checks according to procedures. Teaches others the procedures and verifies their compliance.
• Works with the Supervisor to plan and prepare work assignments and trainings.
• Assists in ELO Verifications.
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Salary

Starting at $20.21 to $25.27 an hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education, training or experience (GED)
• 6+ months’ experience in a food production/ food manufacturing environment.
• Job requires constant standing, lifting, and moving products most of the day.
• Ability to type to operate a computer to enter and run reports.
• Mathematical and problem-solving skills to successfully perform the job.
• Must not have an aversion to heights.
• Must be able to consistently lift to 80 lbs.
• Willing to work 12 hours shift and weekends.

Work Environment

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
