Job summary

Highline Warren is seeking a Blending Supervisor in Greensboro to oversee and coordinate blending activities, tank hookups, and quality testing. You will train and develop the blending team, enforce safety procedures, and drive improvements to enhance efficiency.

You will lead by example, assign duties, monitor production, and ensure procedures are followed, while maintaining open communication with supervision and aligning with the company’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or a combination of related work experience and college course work which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.
  • forklift license may be required by Highline Warren Distribution.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn simple maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and assign team member duties to meet production requirements; maintain time and production records.
  • Monitor fluid locations for optimum storage efficiencies.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment/instruments are operated per procedures.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Supervise team members and provide feedback, training, and reviews to support growth and achievement.
  • Drive continuous improvement; document procedures and apply lean manufacturing tools to lead improvements.
  • Maintain safety and compliance with all rules, policies, and standards.
  • Demonstrate punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

The Blending Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities of team members engaged in performing chemical and lubricant blends, tank hook-ups, and chemical or physical quality control testing. This individual will also be tasked with the ongoing training and development of the blending processes, ensuring all safety procedures are observed and while leading and inspiring team building advancement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To Perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.

  • Establish and assign team member work duties to meet production requirements. Maintain time and production records.
  • Continually monitor where fluids are located for optimum storage efficiencies.
  • Ensure that laboratory equipment and instruments are efficiently operated according to company procedures.
  • Inspect products on a regular basis to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement. Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the company’s mission and have the right tools/resources to do their jobs well.
  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
  • Continually evaluate processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency. Establish and document standard operating procedures and ensure the team is adhering to them. Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. Understand and apply lean manufacturing tools and methodology to lead team in continuous improvement activities.
  • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards. Use independent judgment to ensure that team members follow company policy and maintain a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and promptly resolving violations, including initiating rewards and discipline as needed.
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

  • Operate a computer and demonstrate PC proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or a combination of related work experience and college course work which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.
  • May be required to obtain a forklift license through Highline Warren Distribution.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to learn how to perform simple maintenance tasks.
