Responsibilities

  • Operate mixing equipment to process products according to SOPs and GMPs.
  • Manufacture batches in a timely manner following batch instructions.
  • Adhere to SOPs and GMPs to ensure quality and quantity of products.
  • Follow PPE requirements and safety procedures such as LOTO and confined spaces.
  • Prepare and weigh materials, label containers, and set up pre-weighed containers.
  • Assist with inventory control and ensure proper weights for system accuracy.

Job description

The Blending Operator is responsible for safely operating mixing equipment to process liquid and powder raw materials into finished bulk products by following batch production instructions. The Blender Operator will perform verification and visual checks on all raw materials to ensure correct quantities, lot numbers, and part numbers before starting the batch. The Blending Operator will also ensure the use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas, adhere to confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc. The ideal candidate will ensure that all equipment and work areas are cleaned and sanitized as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operate in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Responsibilities:

Operate mixing equipment to process various nutritional products in both liquid and powder forms according to SOPs and GMPs. Manufacture batches in accordance with batch instructions in a timely manner for all products. Adhere to SOPs and GMPs to ensure the quality and quantity of products produced.

Comply with all employee Policies and Programs, including PPE requirements, Company Emergency Response Plans, GMPs, etc. Disassemble and re-assemble equipment following Lock Out Tag Out procedures.

Ensure the proper weighing and preparation of all materials, including proper selection of containers, accurate labeling of containers, and assembly of pre-weighed secondary containers for use in simple formulas.

Dispense by weighing, filling, and labeling individual Raw Materials or Mass as required and directed by the Pre-Weigh system prompting and according to GMP procedures. Perform inventory control process/procedures as assigned, if applicable.

Transfer raw materials from large containers to smaller containers based on low volumes according to GMP compliant procedures.

Re-weigh Raw Material Source containers before the source container is placed back in warehouse inventory to ensure proper weights for system/inventory accuracy.

Perform container breakdowns. Provide assistance to the Compounding Team when necessary.

Monitor blending process periodically and report any abnormal conditions to the Compounding Manager.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety protocols.

Maintain a clean, safe work area.

Follow all required safety practices.

Report any food safety and food quality issues to management immediately.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Basic math skills

Experience in food and beverage industry a plus

Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and work in a wet/dusty environment

Must be able to lift 45 pounds including overhead

Ability to work flexible hours and in a team environment

Good verbal and written communication skills

Organized and detail-oriented

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
