Job summary

Teknor Apex in Pawtucket, RI seeks a Blender Operator for the 2nd shift to charge hand adds, verify lot numbers and weights of raw materials, and stage materials according to batch cards while adhering to the production schedule.

You will document lot numbers, inspect equipment, manage changeovers, label and package products, and ensure accuracy in weighing and sealing per customer instructions. Lean initiatives and KPI targets are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend English.
• Basic math skills.
• Willingness to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Verify all TA item code numbers before charging the blender.
• Record all lot numbers of staged materials on the batch card.
• Clean and inspect the blender to ensure readiness for the next charge.
• Prepare the blender for the next compound charge and staging of raw materials.
• Charge all hand adds to the blender as per batch card.
• Report any variation from procedure to supervision and document on batch card.
• Coordinate blender production with other areas of operation.
• Review production schedule and follow customer packaging instructions; ensure proper packing, labeling, weighing and sealing.
• Generate labels and affix to packaging containers.
• Perform packaging equipment changeovers safely and efficiently with required PPE.
• Communicate with mill area operators after changeover.
• Prepare packaging materials for future shift schedule requirements.
• Scan/enter finished product into the computer system.
• Practice good housekeeping and wear PPE.
• Meet or exceed plant KPIs.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
