Job summary

Teknor Apex in Pawtucket, RI is seeking a Blender Operator for the 3rd shift to manage charging of hand adds, verify raw material lot numbers and weights, and stage materials per batch cards. The role involves coordinating with other areas, logging data on batch cards, and maintaining equipment readiness.

You will ensure proper packing, labeling, weighing, and sealing according to customer packaging instructions, generate labels, and apply them to containers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend English and perform basic math calculations.
• Willingness to learn and operate forklift equipment.
• Ability to follow batch cards and packing instructions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Verify TA item codes and weights of raw materials before blender charging.
• Record all lot numbers of staged materials on batch cards.
• Clean and inspect blender to ensure readiness for next charge.
• Prepare blender for next compound charge and stage required materials.
• Charge hand adds to blender as specified by batch cards.
• Document any procedural variations to supervision and batch cards.
• Coordinate blender production with other areas of operation.
• Review production schedule and customer packaging instructions; ensure proper packing, labeling, weighing and sealing.
• Generate and apply labels to package containers.
• Perform safe packaging equipment changeovers and communicate completion to mill area operators.
• Prepare packaging materials for future shifts (e.g., Gaylords, Supersacks).
• Scan/enter finished product into the computer system.
• Practice good housekeeping and wear PPE.
• Meet or exceed plant KPIs and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
