Actalent in Racine, WI seeks a manufacturing technician to follow standardized formulas for weighing and mixing raw materials. You will set up and control processes such as blending, drying, fermentation, extraction, and filtration, while ensuring cGMP/HACCP compliance.

You will operate process equipment, calibrate instruments, and document steps in SAP. This role supports QA sampling, inventory traceability, and sanitation schedules in a fully onsite environment.

Formación

• 1+ years of GMP experience in a Food & Beverage manufacturer or chemical blending.
• Computer proficiency and mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with SAP transactions and process documentation is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Follow standardized formulas for weighing, measuring and mixing raw materials.
• Set up and control processes including blending, drying, fermentation, extraction and filtration.
• Complete appropriate documentation and maintain PI sheets in SAP.
• Operate process and utility equipment in a hygienic and safe manner per cGMP/HACCP.
• Set up, calibrate and monitor instruments (pH, temp, conductivity, hydrometers).
• Tear down, clean and re-assemble equipment; perform minor maintenance (<10% time).
• Maintain inventory traceability and write work instructions for manufacturing.
• Take samples for QA analysis and track variations in materials.

Description

With direction from the Lead and Supervisor, produces various food ingredients, learning good manufacturing practices, and how to follow standardized formulas for weighing, measuring and mixing raw materials.

Sets up, and controls processes, i.e. blending, drying, bulk fermentation, extraction and filtration.

Completes appropriate documentation.

Operates process and utility equipment in a hygienic and safe manner in accordance with all process procedures, cGMP, HAACP and SHE instructions and guidelines.

Sets up, calibrates and monitors instruments, i.e. pH meter, temperature meter, conductivity meter, hyrdometer, thermometers, and metal detection devices.

Tears down, cleans and re-assembles equipment, i.e. pumps, mills, grinders, valves, etc.

Clean utensils, vessels and lines.

Identifies, troubleshoots, and responds to deviations in process, product, equipment, and performance variations.

Utilizes SAP to complete timely and accurate transactions, i.e. maintaining process information (PI) sheets.

Sets up recipes and/or standard operating procedures (SOPs), understands and executes operations in mixing, pH adjustment, transfers and process sequences while documenting steps and other records.

Tracks and maintains inventory levels to ensure traceability.

Identifies and takes appropriate action for variations in raw materials, foreign debris, color changes, smell, moisture and temperature variations.

Takes samples for QA analysis.

Performs minor maintenance work on equipment when necessary to ensure continuous operation of process (< 10% of time).

Completes the daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules.

Writes work instructions for work performed in the manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
