Job summary

Domtar Hawesville is seeking a Bleached Pulp Mill Assistant Superintendent to lead safety, quality, and production objectives across the Hawesville Bleached Pulp Mill. This role collaborates with the Production Superintendent, Coordinators and Shift Supervisors to meet strategic goals.

Responsibilities include driving safe operations, mentoring staff, managing budgets, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring high-quality pulp production while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with significant pulp/paper industry exposure preferred.
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities with a track record of mentoring teams.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality programs and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives and ensure a safe workplace across the mill.
• Coordinate daily operations and maintenance to support reliable production and cost targets.
• Review performance data and implement actions to improve margins and reduce downtime.
• Develop budgets and capital plans with the Bleached Pulp Production Superintendent and Manager.
• Provide timely management reporting on performance and improvements.
