Oklahoma State University in Stillwater is seeking a facilities maintenance technician for the Vice President for Research (VPR) facilities. You will perform general office, lab, and equipment maintenance and respond to issues to ensure continuous research use.
The role requires availability for overtime and weekly on-call rotation, plus ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. You will interact professionally with customers and colleagues while following safety and PPE guidelines.

Work Schedule: Work Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8AM - 5PM. This position will be required to work overtime when necessary. Required to participate in weekly rotating on-call schedule. Overtime and on-call hours include non-business hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night as needed. Due to communication expectations of the position, the employee will be required to maintain a personal cell phone.

General office, lab and equipment maintenance for spaces and equipment assigned to the Vice President for Research (VPR). Identify, respond to, and repair issues found within the space assigned to the VPR. Perform daily walk-throughs of VPR assigned space and scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment. Maintain the infrastructure, aesthetics, and daily operations of the VPR facilities to ensure continuous research use and adherence to all applicable regulations and requirements. Required to work overtime when necessary. Required to participate in weekly rotating on-call schedule. Overtime and on-call hours include non-business hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night as needed. Due to communication expectations of the position, the employee will be required to maintain a personal cell phone. This position is expected to interact with customers and other employees in a professional manner that enhances work effectiveness and efficiency for the VPR Research Facilities Maintenance Department.
Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Must be eligible for employment in areas governed by the U.S. Patriot Act and the Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002, 42 CFR 73, 7 CFR 331, and 9 CFR 121. Consequently, the individual hired for this position must successfully complete a Department of Justice/Federal Bureau of Investigation (DOJ/FBI) security risk assessment as well as the background check. Must maintain a valid driver's license. Must enroll in the University's Occupational Health and Safety Program. Must enroll in the University's Respiratory Protection Program and receive medical clearance to wear/use respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
Apprentice license in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing.
