Oklahoma State University (OSU) Stillwater is seeking a Facilities Maintenance worker to support VPR spaces and equipment. You will identify and repair issues, perform daily walk-throughs, and schedule preventative maintenance to ensure continuous research use.

General office, lab and equipment maintenance for spaces and equipment assigned to the Vice President for Research (VPR). Identify, respond to, and repair issues found within the space assigned to the VPR. Perform daily walk-throughs of VPR assigned space and scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment. Maintain the infrastructure, aesthetics, and daily operations of the VPR facilities to ensure continuous research use and adherence to all applicable regulations and requirements. Required to work overtime when necessary. Required to participate in weekly rotating on-call schedule. Overtime and on-call hours include non-business hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night as needed. Due to communication expectations of the position, the employee will be required to maintain a personal cell phone. This position is expected to interact with customers and other employees in a professional manner that enhances work effectiveness and efficiency for the VPR Research Facilities Maintenance Department.
BMM I - two years of prior successful work experience in a building trade; and/or the equivalent of 600 hours Vocational/Technical education in a related building trade field.
BMM II - three years of prior successful work experience in a building trade; and/or the equivalent of 600 hours Vocational/Technical education in a related building trade field plus one year of prior successful work experience in a building trade.
BMM III - four years of prior successful work experience in a building trade; and/or the equivalent of 600 hours Vocational/Technical education in a related building trade field plus two years of prior successful work experience in a building trade.
Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Must be eligible for employment in areas governed by the U.S. Patriot Act and the Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002, 42 CFR 73, 7 CFR 331, and 9 CFR 121. Consequently, the individual hired for this position must successfully complete a Department of Justice/Federal Bureau of Investigation (DOJ/FBI) security risk assessment as well as the background check. Must maintain a valid driver's license. Must enroll in the University's Occupational Health and Safety Program. Must enroll in the University's Respiratory Protection Program and receive medical clearance to wear/use respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
Building Trades or Technical Field
Four (4) years' experience in a building trade; and/or the equivalent of 600 hours Vocational/Technical education in a related building trade field plus two (2) years of prior successful work experience in a building trade.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Apprentice license in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing.
