Job summary

The City of Corpus Christi is seeking a building and grounds custodian to clean restrooms, sweep, mop and wax floors, vacuum carpets, and remove trash inside and outside the building. This role also cleans interior windows and dusts furniture.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 6 months to 1 year of experience, and a valid driver's license (out-of-state applicants must obtain a Texas license within 90 days).

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains restrooms for public and staff by sweeping and mopping floors, sanitization of toilets and sinks, and cleaning mirrors and walls
• Replenishes bathroom supplies as needed; requests supply orders in a timely manner
• Dusts and cleans all exposed surfaces in public and staff areas
• Cleans and maintains floors by sweeping, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpets as needed
• Collects trash inside and outside; places recycled materials and bins in designated locations
• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and maintenance as needed; ensures materials and equipment are on hand and in good repair
• Conducts monthly checks on all safety equipment
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Overview

The building and grounds custodian position will be responsible for cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping and waxing floors. This position will also vacuum carpets and rugs as well as picking up trash inside and outside of the building. The incumbent will clean the interior of windows and other glass surfaces and dusting furniture.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains restrooms for public and staff by sweeping and mopping floors, sanitization of toilets and sinks, and cleaning mirrors and walls
