Job summary

Goodwill Staffing Services is seeking a Custodian (Temporary) in Corpus Christi, TX at Goodwill on Port Ave. The role requires basic knowledge of cleaning standards and the ability to operate custodial equipment to maintain facility cleanliness.

You will support inventory needs, communicate with staff, and uphold OSHA safety practices while contributing to daily program goals. This position is part-time, non-exempt, with a focus on reliable custodial support across agency facilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning standards for facilities and contracted sites.
• Operate custodial/janitorial equipment (buffers, carpet cleaners, floor strippers) to maintain cleanliness.
• Monitor inventory and report materials and supplies needs.
• Communicate with staff, coworkers and customers in an appropriate and ethical manner.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and ensure OSHA-compliant chemical/equipment use.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust, mop floors and offices; empty trash and replace bags.
• Clean restrooms following procedures and maintain safety and loss prevention.
• Adhere to company policies and participate in routine duties to meet department goals.
• Support the agency's core values and contribute to overall objectives.

Goodwill Staffing Services is looking for a Custodian (Temporary-Position) in Corpus Christi, TX with Goodwill on Port Ave.

DUTIES:

• Must have basic knowledge of acceptable cleaning standards related to the cleaning and maintenance of the agency’s facilities and of the facilities of contracting customers where custodial/janitorial services are provided. Must be able to operate custodial/janitorial equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, floor strippers and other applicable cleaning equipment to maintain the cleanliness of the facility in which they work. Must be able to monitor inventory and relaying to management the materials and supplies necessary for fulfilling custodial cleaning and maintenance where applicable.
• Must exhibit the ability to communicate with the staff, co-workers, and customers in an appropriate and ethical manner.
• Prepare appropriate cleaning solutions according to proper procedures.
• Adherence to OSHA standards in relation to the proper use of chemicals and equipment involved in the day-to-day completion of custodial cleaning tasks.
• Sweep/Vacuum/Dust/Mop floors and offices
• Empty trash containers and replace trash bags. Discard trash in appropriate location.
• Clean restrooms following appropriate procedures.
• Adheres to and enforces safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment and inventory.
• Ensures all operations are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
