Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Building Automation Systems Specialist to install, operate and maintain the building automation and direct digital control systems across the facility. You will work with pneumatic and electronic controls to ensure reliable environmental conditions and energy efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science (or equivalent experience), five years of related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Or High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years experience in system commissioning and/or programming of DDC systems and HVAC control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, calibrate and program Direct Digital Control systems, sensors and pneumatic controls for BMS.
  • Respond to hospital emergencies including leaks, odors and fire alarms.
  • Design and install modifications of pneumatic controls for energy conservation.
  • Lubricate bearings and PMs on HVAC units; operate air compressors and related components.

111 Michigan Avenue NorthwestWashington, DC 20010Kids Are Our Everything.Department10029 Facility ManagementPay Range$31.81 - $62.50About the Role:The Building Automation Systems Specialist will install, operate and maintain the computerized direct digital electronic control systems of the buildingautomation system for the facility and all the pneumatic operated automatic temperature control systems on all mechanical equipment in accordance with plans and specifications, operating manuals and manufacturer's specifications.Responds to all hospital emergencies including but not limited to leaks, odors and fire alarms. Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to operate hospital vehicles. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and or arms and to talk and hear. The employee is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must lift and or move up to 50lbs.What You\"ll Bring:Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, followed by specialized training and certifications in building automation and facility management (Required) OrHigh School Diploma or GED 4+ years experience in system commissioning and/or programming of DDC systems and HVAC control systems (Required)Minimum Work Experience5 years At least 5 to 7 years of related and progressive experience. Emphasis on automatic temperature controls, both Pneumatic and DDC. No supervisory experience required. (Required)Required Skills/KnowledgeFrequent bend/stoop, sit, stand/walk and reach 8-12 hrs. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull >40<75 pounds. PC Operating Systems and mobile work order devices. Proficient knowledge of Intranet, some Microsoft Offices Suites (Word, Excel). Familiarity with automated work order systems.
