Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Unit Communications Associate for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit to coordinate unit communications and deliver compassionate service to patients, families and staff.

You will greet visitors, answer calls, update information boards, assist with admissions and discharges, and maintain patient care records in accordance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; an associate degree or some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in basic MS Word and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone calls and relay messages accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain unit communication boards and assist with admissions, discharges and bed status.

Maintains patient care records and related documentation as determined by Health Information Management and Unit Support Services. Performs clerical duties for a specific unit.
