Job summary

Getman Corporation is seeking a Blast and Paint Prep Operator in Kalamazoo, MI. The role involves operating abrasive blasting equipment, performing basic maintenance, and supporting paint prep to keep production flowing.

You will work with fabrication and paint teams to align priorities and meet production schedules, while maintaining safety and quality standards. This hourly, full-time position offers opportunities to cross-train into a combined blast/paint operator role as the line demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in manufacturing or fabrication preferred.
• Willingness to learn blasting/painting processes.
• Able to work in a high-mix environment.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot blasting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate blasting equipment to prepare metal parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Support paint prep: masking, sealing, staging.
• Coordinate with fabrication and paint for schedules.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and PPE use.
