Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking an experienced Blaster Trainee to assist the Blaster with daily drilling and blasting on construction sites. This on-the-job apprenticeship requires some experience with explosives and the ability to travel as needed, with hands-on training to develop supervision skills in blasting operations.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years' experience working with drills and explosives, or previous military experience in explosive handling.
• Travel ability required; willing to travel out of town as needed.
• Must be able to pass ATF screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Blaster in charge with coordinating daily drilling & blasting activities.
• Trains to be proficient in all areas of blasting techniques.
• Develops understanding of proper explosives product use and various applications.
• Assists the Blaster with maintaining the daily blasting production schedule.
• Assists the Blaster with site security.
• Follows company safety policies and performs work safely.
