Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting is seeking a Blaster Trainee to assist the Blaster with daily drilling and blasting coordination. This on‑the‑job trainee position requires some explosives experience or prior military explosive handling and offers hands‑on learning in blasting operations.

Qualifications

• MUST have at least two years' experience with drills and explosives, or prior military explosive handling.
• Willingness to travel out of town as needed.
• Able to obtain blasting licenses and pass ATF screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Blaster in charge with coordinating daily drilling and blasting activities.
• Trains to be proficient in blasting techniques.
• Maintains the daily blasting production schedule and assists with site security.
• Attends company meetings and participates in daily heads-up meetings.
• Assists Blaster with setup of seismographs and drill pattern layout.
