Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting in Alabama is seeking a Blaster Trainee to gain hands-on blasting experience in the field. This on-the-job trainee role assists the Blaster with daily drilling and blasting coordination and safety practices.

Candidates should have at least two years' experience with drills and explosives or military explosive handling, be willing to travel for paid training, and meet licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years' experience working with drills and explosives, or previous military experience in explosive handling.
• Willing to travel to northern divisions for paid training, for 6-8 weeks.
• Ability to obtain blasting licenses and pass ATF screenings.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Blaster in charge with coordinating daily drilling & blasting activities.
• Trains to be proficient in all areas of blasting techniques.
• Develops understanding of proper explosives product use and various applications.
• Maintains the daily blasting production schedule and site security.
• Follows company safety policies and works in a safe manner.
• Attends and contributes to company meetings and daily heads-up sessions.
• Assists with setting up seismographs and drill pattern layout.
