Job description

Blaster - Entry Level
Objective:
  • Ensures tank heads are not defective and comply with the specifications set out on their Job Travelers
  • Sandblasts the tank heads in time to meet their production timeline.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follow shop safety and environmental rules
  • Measure and inspect pressed heads
  • Blast tank heads
  • Report quality issues, including defects and damage, to the supervisor
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed to accomplish objectives
  • Comply with the industry standards and safety regulations
  • Complete all tasks as delegated by the supervisor in charge
  • Manage time and work efficiently to meet production deadlines
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
  • Move materials with a forklift

Physical Demands:
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently.
  • Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp, climb a ladder, and reach overhead and outward frequently.
  • Work in an industrial environment wearing hearing and vision protection, steel-toe shoes, and other appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • The work environment may include excessive temperatures.
Minimum Job Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Maintain a valid driver's license & proof of insurance
  • The following are the general guidelines for hiring into the three levels for this position:
    1. 0-2 years of previous manufacturing experience
    2. 2-4 years of previous manufacturing experience
    3. 4 years of previous manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read job specifications, instructions, policies, procedures, rules, posted notices and warnings, safety guidelines, and other work-related materials written primarily or exclusively in English
  • Ability to read part drawings
  • Familiarity with basic measurement methods
  • Ability to interact and work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers
  • Keeps knowledge and skills current
