Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Blaster Trainee to support the Blaster with daily drilling and blasting activities in the field. This on-the-job trainee role requires some explosives experience and offers hands-on learning, safety training, and advancement opportunities within a majority employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with drills and explosives, or military explosive handling experience.
• Demonstrates basic blasting problem solving skills.
• Able to travel out of town as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Blaster in charge with coordinating daily drilling & blasting activities.
• Trains to be proficient in all areas of blasting techniques.
• Develops understanding of proper explosives product use and applications.
• Maintains daily blasting production schedule and assists with site security.
• Follows safety policies and attends required meetings.
• Assists with drill pattern layout, setup, and supervision as needed.
• Records explosives usage and related paperwork.
