Job summary

Valley Truck Parts in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Prep Technician to prepare differential components for the blasting and painting stages. You will operate blasting equipment, maintain a clean, safe work area, and ensure parts meet quality standards before moving to the next production steps.

The role features a 6am-4:30pm shift, Monday through Thursday, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch; overtime on Fridays as needed.

Qualifications

Coordination/prioritization/organization required.
Knowledge of safe work practices in the department.
Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stay goal-focused in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare differential components for blasting and ensure proper positioning and securing.
Operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently to remove contaminants.
Inspect blasted components for cleanliness, dryness, and quality before painting/next stage.
Load/unload using overhead hoists and manage racks and carts.
Monitor blasting cycle and ensure equipment operates correctly.
Transport completed parts to paint booth or production area.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment following safety procedures.
Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervision.
Communicate status and production flow with team leads and supervisors.
Cross-train in other production areas as needed.
