Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.SUMMARYThe Blast / Paint / Hydro Group Lead assists in the development, training, evaluation, and work schedules of both probationary and regular full-time employees within the area. This role also provides support to the department supervisor in achieving daily and monthly goals in safety, quality, accuracy and production. The Group Lead will be responsible for expediting work orders through the manufacturing process, accurate production reporting, and maximizing resources while reducing scrap/rework. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical multi-tasker with excellent organizational and prioritizing skills and expertise in Blast, Paint, and Hydrostatic Testing. This is a working Group Lead position.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty or responsibility satisfactorily. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.Conduct pre-shift meetings and delegate daily work assignments.Execute scheduled work orders to meet customer requirements.Resolve day to day issues to meet production, safety, shipping and quality goals.Complete production, scrap, and rework reports.Train, develop, and maintain training records on employees and make recommendations for employee advancement.Provide input on disciplinary reports and evaluations. May make recommendations for merit increases.Record daily attendance of employees and submit payroll reports.Assist supervisor in Incident/Accident investigation and reporting.Provide a safe working environment and administer safety program for the assigned area.Act as First Responder for the Plant.Working Group Leads are required to complete assignments within their area (Blast, Paint, Hydro, etc.).Other duties as required and assigned.REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 2 years recent experience in manufacturing / production environment required.Minimum of 3 years work experience in the relevant area required (Blast, Paint, Hydro, etc.) required.Basic computer skills required – MS Word and MS Excel; Epicor preferred.Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with management and other employees to achieve goals.Demonstrated ability to support, promote, and adhere to the Westerman philosophy and Code of Conduct.Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills required; previous leadership experience strongly preferred.Basic ability to troubleshoot production/personnel issues required.First Aid/CPR Training, Emergency Response Training required.On the job training as needed to enhance safety, productivity, and troubleshooting skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
