Job summary

BakerRisk’s corporate office in San Antonio, TX is seeking a full-time entry-level engineer to join the Blast Effects team. The role focuses on testing related to flammability and explosion phenomena, supporting incident investigations, and assisting in explosion consequence assessments.

Candidates will prepare technical proposals, reports and presentations and collaborate with mid-level and senior staff across ranges, labs, and field sites.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (MS or PhD preferred).
  • Must be able to support multiple projects and meet deadlines across varied environments (test ranges, office, industrial, explosion sites).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Field or lab-scale testing experience required.
  • Frequent travel will be required.

Position will also involve preparing technical proposals, reports and presentations.

Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or related discipline (MS or PhD preferred).
  • Must have the ability to support multiple projects while meeting deadlines and working with a variety of personnel under a range of conditions (i.e., test ranges, office, industrial, and accidental explosion sites).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Field or lab-scale testing experience is required.
  • This position will require frequent travel.
