Job summary

Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a full-time, entry-level engineer for our Blast Effects team. The role focuses on supporting testing related to flammability and explosion phenomena, under supervision of mid- and senior staff.

You will assist in explosion consequence assessments, incident investigations, and in preparing technical proposals, reports, and presentations. Will travel frequently to test ranges and project sites across varied environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required; MS/PhD preferred.
• Ability to support multiple projects while meeting deadlines in various settings.
• Travel frequently to test ranges, sites, and offices.

Responsibilities

• Support testing related to flammability and explosion phenomena.

Our corporate office located in San Antonio, TX is seeking a full-time entry level engineer in our Blast Effects section. This position will have a focus on supporting testing related to flammability and explosion phenomena. The successful applicant will also assist mid-level and senior staff in explosion consequence assessments and supporting incident investigations. Position will also involve preparing technical proposals, reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering degree or related discipline (MS or PhD preferred).


• Must have the ability to support multiple projects while meeting deadlines and working with a variety of personnel under a range of conditions (i.e., test ranges, office, industrial, and accidental explosion sites).


• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.


• Field or lab-scale testing experience is required.


• This position will require frequent travel.
