Job summary

Conagra Brands in Archbold, Ohio is seeking an on-site Blancher Operator to operate and monitor the blanching process, prepare equipment, and ensure safe, efficient production. You will check product flow, perform quality checks, and maintain sanitary conditions while following GMP, safety and 5S standards.

Experience in food manufacturing is preferred; forklift certification is required or obtainable. Shift 2:45 PM–11:00 PM with a $0.75 differential, and Archbold location.

Job description

Shift: 2:45 PM-11:00 PM Hourly Rate: $25.51 an hour + $.75 shift differential Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will operate and monitor the blanching process to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production at our Archbold, Ohio facility. You will prepare equipment for operation, monitor product flow and processing conditions, perform quality checks, and maintain compliance with food safety, safety, and manufacturing standards. You will work with team members across the production area to ensure continuous operations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

Check production schedules and prepare equipment and work areas for operations. Set blancher controls, install and secure screens, open and close valves as required, fill equipment with water, regulate steam flow, set revolutions, and monitor temperatures throughout production. Obtain bean samples from each tank and deliver samples for quality testing. Monitor the loading of raw ingredients from bean tanks into machine hoppers. Fill totes with blanched beans and move materials to designated staging areas. Monitor blancher performance, review product samples, and make process adjustments as needed to maintain product quality. Perform equipment startup and shutdown activities and support kettle operations as required. Clean screens, break down cardboard containers, and maintain sanitary production conditions. Follow all company safety policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and 5S standards. Follow plant Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and apply equipment isolation requirements when necessary. Clean, secure, and prepare equipment at the end of each shift. Complete required documentation and perform other duties as assigned.

Ingredients Required for Your Success

Forklift certification or the ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification. Effective organization and communication skills. Experience completing production and operational documentation accurately. Commitment to personal safety and the safety of fellow team members. Motivated team player with a collaborative approach to work. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, sanitation, and manufacturing safety practices preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred.
