FIND Outdoors in Burnsville, NC is seeking Campground Hosts for the 2026 season. The role involves guest registration, public interaction, safety checks, site maintenance, and daily grounds keeping to ensure exceptional experiences for visitors.

Hosts work 24 hours across 3 days per week and receive a full hookup campsite plus a $185 weekly stipend. This temporary position runs mid-September to October, with preference for 2027 season for successful applicants.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to meet the public and communicate effectively both in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects within a strict time frame.
  • Ability to walk up to 1/2 mile daily and lift twenty (20) lbs.
  • Ability to move, lift and utilize handheld gas powered grounds keeping equipment.
  • Ability to see and hear in order to safely drive a golf cart.
  • Possess camping trailer or motor home in good condition

Responsibilities

  • Register guest and collect fees (where applicable). Provide interaction with the public to ensure exceptional experiences at all times.
  • Act as support to the Site Manager in areas of public contact and security.
  • Resolution of visitor complaints.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and patrols.
  • Assist with weekly inspections and report safety hazards to the Site Manager.
  • Perform routine bathroom cleaning daily to FIND standards, identifying hazards and removing graffiti.
  • Empty recycling containers and collect trash from receptacles and grounds.
  • Removal of ashes/wood/litter in fire rings.
  • Rake/clean campsites and other site facilities and grounds.
  • Maintain operational integrity and related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain vehicular access, parking lots, and walkways free of vegetation and potholes.
  • Participate in regular site meetings.
  • Mowing/weed-eating as assigned by Site Manager or Campground Operations Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Site Manager or Campground Operations Manager.

Schedule & Compensation:Campground Hosts will work 24 hours (3 days a week) and receive a full hookup campsite and $185/weekly stipend. This is a temporary position for the 2026 season. The season will run from mid-September through the end of October- subject to the USFS operating schedule. Successful 2026 hosts will have preference for 2027 season positions.
