Description
The Bistro Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage functions of the hotel in coordination with the Food and Beverage Manager and Events Manager. They serve as the link between guests, caterers, food vendors, and the sales department.
Essential Functions
Client/Guest Service
- Maintain guest service as the primary focus of the hotel.
- Demonstrate commitment to guest satisfaction by promptly responding to client/guest needs.
- Ensure every guest is 100% satisfied.
- Address client/guest complaints related to food & beverage in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper delivery of meeting room special requests.
Bistro Responsibilities
- Create and update weekly schedules for Bistro staff with approval from F&B Manager.
- Ensure shifts are adequately covered; act as Bistro Host during busy times or staff absences.
- Assist in purchasing and ordering food items and supplies; maintain adequate stock levels.
- Confirm orders and shipments; ensure proper storage upon receipt.
- Shop for miscellaneous food items and supplies as needed.
- Review guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction.
- Supervise and evaluate Bistro staff with managerial assistance.
Banquet Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination, preparation, and service of banquets and meetings.
- Greet and coordinate with meeting room guests; schedule additional help as needed.
- Assist in purchasing banquet supplies and food & beverage items.
- Ensure all arrangements are complete before events.
- Help produce menus and monitor service quality.
- Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist in setting banquet policies and creating setup sheets.
- Verify meeting room setup and needs upon arrival.
Human Resources
- Maintain a positive work environment.
- Respond to feedback and motivate staff.
- Coordinate hiring, training, and disciplinary actions with managers.
- Ensure proper training and certifications for staff.
- Conduct staff reviews and evaluations.
Safety and Security Management
- Know and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Identify and address safety hazards and security issues.
- Follow hotel policies for key control and security.
General Duties and Expectations
- Maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor.
- Manage time effectively; be punctual.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately.
- Keep the work environment organized and clean.
- Work hours as required; attend all meetings.
- Must have bartending experience.
