Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Nurse Manager (RN) to lead the assigned department 24/7, coordinating clinical, administrative and regulatory activities for the team. Under the Nursing Director, you will drive safety, quality, staffing, budget and professional development, mentoring staff and fostering a collaborative, data-driven culture aligned with Hartford HealthCare’s mission.

You will also support Lean processes, regulatory readiness, and staff development to sustain excellence

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Minimum 3 years clinical practice.
• Minimum 2 years progressive leadership experience.
• BLS credential from AHA.
• Certification in specialty area within 3 years of start date.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate 24-hour operations for the assigned department.
• Oversee clinical practices, leadership development, HR, finances, and quality.
• Ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance; lead performance improvement.
