Michaels is seeking an events-oriented team member in Portsmouth, NH to plan and coordinate in-store events including children’s parties and craft classes. You will engage guests of all ages, teach crafts, handle face painting, and manage add-ons while delivering outstanding customer service.

The role covers logistics, communications with clients and staff, and administrative tasks. It requires enthusiasm, reliability, and strong people skills in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events within a Michaels store to deliver a fun, engaging experience for guests.
• Provide fast, friendly customer service and help shoppers find what they need.
• Ensure a quick, friendly checkout experience for all customers.
• Perform operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards.
• Coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages (4–94+) to create a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and teach participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Suggest and implement party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; adjust plans based on feedback.
• Complete administrative tasks: emails, calls, and paperwork as needed.
• Create backup or emergency plans and ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before/after events.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness tasks and assist with SOPs and safety programs.
