Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Birth Assistant to support the Birth Center team during labor, birth and postpartum periods. You will care for the client, newborn and family, and participate in lactation support, home visits, and patient education programs.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in labor & delivery, a NJ RN license, NRP and BLS; ACLS is preferred. The position is part-time with day shifts and on-site work at Voorhees, NJ.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in labor & delivery.
• Experience in postpartum, newborn and lactation services preferred.
• RN licensure in NJ, BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment of patient, develops and evaluates a plan of care.
• Administers, monitors and documents therapeutic interventions.
• Educates patient and family about labor, birthing and postpartum processes.
