Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics seeks a Patient Care Technician for its Birth Center to partner with nursing staff in delivering direct patient care and performing clerical duties. The role supports pediatric to geriatric patients with age-appropriate care and contributes to smooth unit operations.

Hourly wage ranges from $20.27 to $28.61, to be determined based on experience and internal equity. The position is full-time, onsite in Minnesota with shift coverage including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Registered in good standing with the Minnesota Department of Health Nursing Assistant Registry (NAR).
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Providers within 6 months of hire.
• Current Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months of hire.
• Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written English.
• Prior nursing assistant or HUC experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient centered care.
• Observe and document health status changes and report to RN.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Document daily care and meals, provide comfort and hydration.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient care environment.
• Handle unit communications and receptionist duties.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to secure patient services.
