Job summary

Lilly in Indianapolis (IN) is seeking Associate/Senior Associate Scientist for BioTDR Lead Optimization. You will work on generating, characterizing, and optimizing biotherapeutics from lead generation through preclinical development, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate ideas into candidates.

Ideal candidates have a background in protein design/engineering, experience in expression/purification, and strong data communication.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in biochemistry or related STEM with 2+ years (MS) or 4+ years (BS) of expression/characterization experience.
• Strong proficiency in protein biochemistry and structure–function relationships.
• Hands-on experience with ÄKTA systems and chromatography methods.
• Experience with analytical characterization methods such as HPLC, SPR, LC-MS.

Responsibilities

• Express, purify (ÄKTA), and characterize (HPLC) proteins and antibodies.
• Perform analytical characterization of purified proteins and antibodies.
• Characterize protein structure, stability, and quality attributes.
• Characterize protein–protein interactions.
• Collaborate within multifunctional teams and present data.
• Independently design experiments and document results.
• Communicate clearly with strong self‑management and organization.
