Lonza in Portsmouth, NH is hiring an entry-level Biotechnologist I to support Cell Therapy manufacturing on-site. You will assist with operations, training, and documentation in a fast-paced, compliant environment.

The role involves learning processes, performing cleaning tasks, and supporting transfers and process readiness with cross-functional teams. This 12-hour rotating shift offers exposure to advanced cell therapy technologies, hands-on training, and a path toward career development

Qualifications

• Experience in a GMP/biotech/pharma manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of cGMP principles and cleanroom operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and systems.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations in safety, quality, and cGMP compliance.
• Perform cleaning activities and keep spaces inspection-ready.
• Complete safety, gowning, material movement, environmental monitoring training.
• Support technical transfer activities, including training runs and process readiness.
• Assist with creation, review, and updating of manufacturing documentation.

Job Title: Biotechnologist I

Location: Portsmouth, NH, (On-site)

We are seeking a Manufacturing Associate I to join our Cell Therapy manufacturing team in Portsmouth, NH. In this entry-level role, you will help support manufacturing operations in a safe, compliant, and controlled environment. You will work alongside experienced colleagues to support production activities, technical transfers, equipment readiness, training activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Become part of a talented team of people working together to help improve lives around the world.

This role follows a 12-hour day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a rotating schedule of alternating days: two on, two off, three on, two off, two on, three off (repeating cycle).

What You Will Do

• Support manufacturing operations in compliance with safety, quality, and cGMP requirements
• Perform cleaning activities and help ensure manufacturing spaces are inspection‑ready
• Complete training in safety, gowning, material movement, environmental monitoring, and manufacturing processes
• Support technical transfer activities, including training runs, engineering runs, and process readiness activities
• Assist with the creation, review, and updating of manufacturing documentation
• Learn and support customer manufacturing processes transferred into the Portsmouth facility
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, MSAT, and other teams to support project milestones

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in a GMP, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment is preferred
• Basic understanding of cGMP principles and cleanroom operations preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and work in a fast‑paced environment
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and systems
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Curiosity with a willingness to learn and understand processes
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field preferred
