Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee our Breed Operation. You will supervise daily activities, ensure SOP compliance and biosafety, and coordinate workload across the team to meet departmental goals.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, scheduling overtime, handling safety issues, and interacting with customers as needed. Minimum qualifications include a life sciences degree with supervisory experience, plus strong communication and computer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of supervisory experience delivering complex initiatives and/or supporting operations.
• Associates degree with 6 years of supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED with 8 years of supervisory experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Demonstrated computer skills (data input, word processing) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and review work of assigned departmental employees to ensure accuracy and adherence to SOPs, safety procedures, and biosafety protocols.
• Coordinate and schedule department activities through hands-on technical support and delegation.
• Oversee production and shipping activities, maintain records, and prepare reports.
• Review safety issues and workers' compensation claims.
• Interact with customers to resolve requests, inquiries, and complaints.
• Review customer complaints and participate in procedural improvements; maintain complaint charts.
• Audit production rooms and isolators; ensure inventory levels are adequate.
• Interview and select personnel; assist in HR processes and disciplinary actions.
