BCG Attorney Search seeks a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property team in California. The role involves preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications for biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients, with collaboration across attorneys, clients, and inventors.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in a life sciences field and USPTO admission, plus 5+ years of patent prosecution experience in therapeutics. Portfolio management and client counseling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences.
• Admission to practice before the USPTO.
• Minimum of five years of patent_prosecution experience in the therapeutics space.
• Experience with patent portfolio management and client counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
• Draft responses to USPTO office actions.
• Conduct patentability, prior art, and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Support strategic portfolio management.
• Collaborate with clients and inventors on intellectual property strategies.
• Coordinate with foreign counsel on international prosecution matters.
