Job summary

NWRPros is seeking a Director of Intellectual Property to lead the global patent strategy for its biotech programs and manage the portfolio across platform technologies. You will coordinate outside counsel, drive freedom-to-operate assessments, and align IP plans with commercial and regulatory goals in a hybrid Seattle, WA or Vancouver, BC role.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in life sciences; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years IP/patent law experience, with 5+ years in biotech.
• Deep understanding of US and foreign patent prosecution.
• Experience supporting BD and Legal in agreements.
• Strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop patent strategy and manage global portfolio across products and platforms.
• Direct outside counsel in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications worldwide.
• Coordinate freedom-to-operate analyses and competitive intelligence for development programs.
• Support due diligence for licensing, collaboration, and sponsored research.
• Lead governance, budgeting, and training on invention capture and IP practices.
