Job summary

Tempus AI, Inc. is seeking a senior Biostatistician to lead design, analysis, and interpretation of complex clinical and real-world data studies.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Clinical/Medical, and Data Science teams to translate research into actionable insights for patients and physicians. The role requires PhD or MS in Biostatistics with extensive experience in survival analysis, experimental design, and SAP development, and a strong track record of supporting regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Biostatistics or related field with 4+ years (Ph.D.) / 6+ years (MS/MA) industry experience.
• Expertise in advanced statistical analysis methods, experimental design, and survival analysis with oncology/cardiology/genomics knowledge.
• Ability to improve or extend standard statistical design and analysis methods to address project-specific challenges.
• Experience developing and reviewing SAPs and independently running analyses for complex studies with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in R and other relevant statistical software, with experience in code review and validation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical and strategic leadership in design, analysis, and interpretation of complex clinical and real-world data studies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Clinical/Medical, Data Science, and other stakeholders to translate research into actionable insights.
• Lead development on statistical analysis plans—sample size and power calculations, and propose accurate methodologies.
• Oversee and independently execute statistical analyses for high-complexity studies with minimal oversight.
• Provide statistical support required for regulatory submissions.
• Mentor and guide junior and senior biostatisticians with project leadership and code validation.
