Job summary

Duke University is seeking an Associate Director of Biostatistics at the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) to steer a growing biostatistics enterprise within a world-class medical research setting. This leadership role emphasizes AI-enabled discovery and collaboration across Duke Health and academia.

The Associate Director will guide operations, innovation, and staffing, partnering with faculty and sponsors to advance pragmatic clinical research and ensure rigorous statistical deliverables

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree with nine years of experience, including four in leadership.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in (bio) statistics or related field with 9+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee biostatistics operations, portfolio risk, quality, scope, budget, and timelines.
• Partner with DCRI and Duke leaders across data science initiatives.
• Develop SOPs and drive continuous improvement across portfolio.
• Keep abreast of FDA/NIH/ICH/IRB/HIPAA guidance and inform the team.
• Recruit diverse methodological talent and build AI-era capabilities.
• Provide statistical leadership for multi-center trials and AI-enabled methods.
