Qualifications

• Interest in applying statistics to commercial agriculture.
• Solid foundation in mathematics and statistics (linear mixed models, spatial stats, ordinal data).
• Knowledge of R, ASReml, or related scientific computing languages.
• Strong oral and written communication across diverse backgrounds.
• Creative thinking and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop experimental designs and phenotypic analyses to improve genetic gain in breeding programs.
• Collaborate with plant breeders globally to translate biological questions into statistical solutions.
• Manage your own research project with periodic verbal updates to a nationwide intern group.
• Gain experience applicable to full-time roles or further graduate study in statistics or plant sciences.
