Job summary

Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center in Richmond seeks a Data Analyst RS to perform data analysis for study design and to prepare statistical reports, tables and figures for research publications.

Required is a Master’s in biostatistics or statistics, 2+ years using SAS/R, and proven ability to disseminate findings. Experience in biomedical research and data extraction from large databases is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in biostatistics or statistics or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
• Ability to perform critical analyses of the literature for ongoing or planned research projects.
• 2+ years of experience defining technical problems in research projects and databases and implementing new or revised statistical approaches.
• Proven ability to disseminate research findings in oral and written formats.
• 2+ years of experience with statistical software applications, including SAS, R, etc.
• Collaborative experience in a biomedical research environment.
• 2+ years of experience in preparing statistical reports, manuscripts for publication.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis for study design and facilitate writing statistical reports.
• Create tables and figures and document the data, methods, interpretations, and conclusions.
• Assist in manuscripts, grant applications and slide presentations.
• Provide biostatistical services to Massey Cancer Center Members and VCU faculty.
• Support ongoing research projects by extracting working data files from the master database.
