Job summary

Avera Research Institute in Sioux Falls is seeking a Biostatistician to provide essential statistical expertise for health outcomes research. You will design studies, analyze data, and prepare manuscripts and reports with multidisciplinary collaborators.

Responsibilities include data management, statistical programming planning, and presenting results to varied audiences. Requires a Master’s/PhD in Biostatistics or related field and proficiency in SAS/SQL/R/Python.

Qualifications

• Master's Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field plus 5 years of demonstrated experience, or a PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing data from cross-sectional, case-control, nested case-control, case-cohort, longitudinal, and randomized trials.
• Proficiency in linear and logistic regression, survival analysis and time series models; programming in SAS, SQL, R or Python.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, analyzes, and evaluates complex data using appropriate methods for research questions.
• Ensures data integrity through data management, database creation/maintenance, and data cleaning checks.
• Leads creation of documents/tables related to datasets and communicates data accuracy to staff and researchers.
• Collaborates with investigators to design studies, develop analytical plans, conduct analyses and summarize results.
• Plans statistical programming activities and sets project time frames for investigators.
• Prepares figures, tables, methods and results to summarize analyses for journals and reports.
• Communicates technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences; maintains high-quality, reliable analyses.
• Works in a multidisciplinary team and handles multiple projects to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
