Job summary

Avera Research Institute in Sioux Falls seeks a Biostatistician to provide essential statistical expertise for health outcomes research. You will design analyses, draft analytic plans, and prepare manuscripts and reports.

The role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality analytical outcomes. You will handle data processing, cleaning, and documentation, and communicate results to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Master's Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field plus 5 years of demonstrated experience
• PhD Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field
• Demonstrated experience managing data from cross-sectional, case-control, nested case-control, case-cohort, longitudinal, and randomized controlled trials
• Demonstrated experience analyzing data using linear and logistic regression, survival analysis and time series models
• Proficiency and programming experience in SAS, SQL, R or Python

Responsibilities

• Investigates, analyzes, and evaluates complex data using proper methodology and evaluation processes.
• Ensures data integrity by data management, database creation and maintenance.
• Leads organization and creation of documents/tables related to datasets and communicates data accuracy.
• Contributes to design of research studies, develops analytical plans, conducts analyses and summarizes results.
• Leads planning of statistical programming activities and schedules for projects.
• Prepares quality figures, tables, statistical methods, and results for journal publications and reports.
• Communicates technical ideas and results to non-technical audiences in written and verbal formats.
